Letter: Iacocca’s book should wake up America
Tuesday, June 26, 2007 | 7:07 a.m.
A short time ago the Las Vegas Sun ran a brief excerpt of Lee Iacocca's book "Where Have All the Leaders Gone?" I have just finished reading this book and I can honestly say that it is the most inspiring work that I have ever read.
Iacocca has clearly defined what has happened to this great country of ours and what we need to do to return to the long road of restoring America to its former greatness. If only 25 percent of our citizens would read this magnificent book we could be on the road to saving this great experiment in democracy.
If we could hold our presidential candidates ' feet to the fire in this next election, perhaps we could elect the one with the right stuff. It would be a start in the right direction .
Time is running out for solving the many challenges we face as a nation. The 2008 presidential election is one of the most important in our history. If the Sun could publish a few more excerpts of Iacocca's insightful book it would, at least, help to wake up our community.
