Letter: Repetition of phrase doesn’t make it true

I am so tired of reading that we can't deport 12 million people. That seems to be the latest catchphrase to excuse illegal immigration.

Do people not understand that if the illegal immigrants don't have jobs, there will be no reason to stay and they will go home on their own?

The large corporations that have a stake in keeping wages low and the sycophantic politicians who reap the campaign donations from those corporations have the American people so beaten down they will believe anything they hear, especially when they hear the same catchphrase repeated ad nauseam.
