Letter: Politicians’ stance on immigration disgusting

Monday, June 18, 2007 | 7:05 a.m.

In my letter I will cite the comments of three men that fit America's problems today.

James Truslow Adams once wrote, "No form of society can be reasonably stable in which the majority of people are not fairly content. People cannot be content if they feel that the foundation of their lives are wholly unstable."

The American people are feeling unstable because of the runaway influx of millions of illegal immigrants, and the economic and social threat they bring.

Ambrose Bierce wrote, "Politics is the conduct of public affairs for private advantage." How true when we see the corruption and political moves by our elected officials in putting their self-interest and their party before the good of America and the American people.

Lastly, Benjamin Disraeli commented, "Damn your principles, stick to your party." The lust for power dictates that rarely will one party legislate anything that may serve to help the opposing party, even if it is in American interest.

Illegal immigrants make a mockery of our laws, they march in our streets with their demands and ride the benefits train, and their allegiance is not to America.

If our gutless politicians don't start standing up to these illegals, I see another American revolution in the making.
