Letter: ‘Blame Democrats’ is always GOP’s answer

Most Nevadans I meet are honest, straightforward individuals who find it hard to understand the plotting and scheming by politicians. Many still believe that George W. Bush is a stalwart president determined to succeed with the war he started in Iraq.

Unfortunately for us , the real reason he has ignored the will of the people and vetoed Democratic attempts in Congress to set a timeline to remove our troops is more sinister. Because for him to allow the removal of the troops is to admit total failure in the war there, and he would go down in history as a failed president.

There is another equally evil reason for him and the congressional Republicans who have enabled him in this endeavor. If they can stall, and prevent the removal of our troops while he's still president, then they can blame the new president, who I assume will be a Democrat, for the failure there. Blame the Democrats - it works every time.
