FLASHPOINT for Jun 13, 2007

Wednesday, June 13, 2007 | 7:27 a.m.

The race for president in Nevada, which is more important than the race for president anywhere but Iowa, New Hampshire and all those big states going on Feb. 5, stays interesting. Dina Titus' decision to go with Hillary Clinton signals that the Senate minority leader wants to do something she hasn't done in awhile - go with a winner. She also got a cool title - co-chairwoman of "Women of the West" - and will get some attention with the gig. But I also see this, just as I did with County Commissioner Rory Reid's signing on with Hillary, as a harbinger that Titus will not run against Rep. Jon Porter. Hillary Clinton could be a serious liability in that congressional district, and neither Titus nor Reid the Younger can afford the baggage.
