Letter: America still paying for President Bush’s lies
Tuesday, June 12, 2007 | 6:59 a.m.
This is in response to Lee S. Gliddon Jr.'s June 7 letter, "Voters should not fall for lies from the left":
I suppose that Mr. Gliddon doesn't think President Bush lied to the American people when he said Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction? And he doesn't think he is a warmonger even though he was planning to attack Iraq as soon as he took office without knowing whether there were WMDs or not. And he snubs his nose at the U.S. Constitution with his eavesdropping on American citizens.
Mr. Gliddon asked, when is America going to wake up? I think he better wake up to what is going on in Washington.
I suppose he is one of the 28 percent who still thinks this bogus war with Iraq was good for America. He also wrote that Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., has accomplished nothing. He tried, but how can he when you have a president who will veto anything that the Democrats propose?
The president will not compromise on anything, and he discredits anyone who dares to disagree with him on anything. Remember, Sen. Reid does not have the power of the president, so since Mr. Bush won't budge on his stance in Iraq, it is very hard for Sen. Reid to get anything accomplished.
President Bush refuses to acknowledge mistakes and continues to send more of our brave troops to their deaths. He believes he is above the law and can disregard our Constitution. Wake up, America.
