In the wake of Session Lite's aftermath, it will be interest- ing to see just how heavy the county's burden has become. It is hard for the state's largest local government to retreat from its Chicken Little pronouncements of the past few weeks, including estimates of at least $300 million lost over the next decade because of the "green" building tax breaks. Add in the transportation funding pilfering of county property tax revenue and only one of two possibilities exists: Either the county is as rich as the state folks thought when they passed the buck - or, more accurately, stole the bucks. Or the county is going to be devastated by the robbing of Local to pay State - and residents here will feel a noticeable pinch. So which is it, commissioners?
