Letter: Voters should not fall for lies from the left
Thursday, June 7, 2007 | 7:15 a.m.
The opponents of President Bush have been selling their lies in a most admirable fashion for six long years. They have claimed our president to be a liar, a warmonger, a bungler, a sleaze and a corrupter of the U.S. Constitution.
Their congressional representatives have repeated these claims so often and so loudly as to make their followers believe them . In fact, the last election resulted in a defeat for the president's party. The Democrats claim a "mandate" to set forth their agenda. Well, what have they done? In a word, nothing!
They have proclaimed a loss in Iraq. They have attempted to take over the president's control of the military and lost in their attempt. Their Senate majority leader, Harry Reid, D-Nev., cannot say much as he has accomplished nothing. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., gave away billions in pork to procure votes for a losing cause . Now the attempt is to give Social Security to illegal aliens. What next?
The presidential aspirants of the Democratic Party are saying anything they can to gain election. John Edwards claims that "global terrorism" is nothing more than a bumper sticker slogan . Barack Obama claims the standard lies about Bush to be true but fails to see that President Bush is not his opponent. Hillary Clinton continues her rant about federal health care.
My question is: When is America going to wake up? When will the voters realize that it is not the person who makes the most promises who should be America's next president? The president should be the smartest, not the shrewdest .
