Letter: Moderate Democrats beware of extremists

I should get little, if any, argument on the issue that the liberal left has gained complete control of the Democratic Party.

My impression is the liberal left, with its ideologues, is attempting to turn our country into an egalitarian society. To do this, it must gain control of the main entities of government, namely the presidency and the Supreme Court.

Having control now of both houses of Congress, it will push relentlessly to gain more seats. This should be very scary to those Democrats with moderate views as to what government's responsibilities are to its citizens.

It appears the liberal left will, short of nothing, demean anyone in its way to attain its goals. I would hope that the moderates and right-of-center Democrats come to their senses and retake control of their party.

If they don't, they may find having the liberal left having control of their party may backfire in the 2008 elections.
