Letter: Saudi Arabia has kept its enemy close
Tuesday, July 31, 2007 | 7:16 a.m.
The Bush administration has amazingly hit a new low in foreign policy proposals in its plan to supply Middle Eastern countries, mostly Saudi Arabia, with $20 billion in advanced weaponry. Has it conveniently forgotten that of the 19 hijackers on 9/11, 15 were from Saudi Arabia?
That barbaric country also uses floggings, amputations and beheadings as punishments and allows capital punishment of minors.
Women are treated as second-class citizens, not even being allowed out in public unless accompanied by a man.
