Letter: Iraq war has only strengthened al-Qaida
Sunday, July 22, 2007 | 1:19 a.m.
Washington is saying that al-Qaida is plotting a major attack on the United States. The National Intelligence Estimate report released this past week said the U.S. faces "a persistent and evolving terrorist threat" over the next three years.
Does that mean after three years we do not have to be concerned about an attack by al-Qaida? How come Bush keeps telling the American people that if we fight them over there we won't have to fight them over here and now Washington is saying they are planning an attack on the U.S.? Is this another scare tactic by the Republicans to help them win the next election?
We have been deceived so many times by this administration I can't believe anything they say anymore.
Bush also said al-Qaida is not nearly as strong today as it was prior to 9/11. Who is he kidding ? Because of his bogus war with Iraq he has helped al-Qaida recruit more and more Musli m extremists , and there are more of them today than before 9/11.
