Letter: Government has been unmitigated disaster
Sunday, July 22, 2007 | 1:18 a.m.
Mark Ferraro's July 20 letter regarding President Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney's disasters doesn't go far enough.
It's not just the Republicans but the Democrats, too. Between the two parties we have an almost $9 trillion national debt, more than 3,600 military deaths in Iraq, over 25 million government "workers" on the payroll, with 40,000 additional bureaucrats added in June 2007.
More laws, rules, regulations, statutes and ordinances than you can count. And don't forget the corruption, waste, incompetence and other malfeasance.
No, Mr. Ferraro, it's not just Bush, it's government in general and weak leadership on both sides of the aisle.
Imagine for a moment how much better things would be if government actually took care of the people's business instead of the business of the special interests.
