Letter: If GOP is moral, what’s immoral?
Monday, July 16, 2007 | 7:13 a.m.
I have been hearing, until I have become blue in the face, that the Republicans have "family and moral values" and that Democrats do not.
Of course, they believe abortion is immoral and it probably is for some women. But how about the death penalty?
How about lying the country into an illegal invasion of a sovereign country that did not attack us?
How about allowing the poor and homeless to grow under their tenure?
How about putting politics above principle?
How about the president commuting the sentence of a convicted felon?
How about being responsible for the deaths of more than 150,000 innocent Iraqi civilians? How many did they say that Saddam was responsible for? Was that not 142,000?
How does the White House differentiate between those Iraqis killed by Saddam and those killed by Bush's war?
So let's cut the bull about "values."
