Letter: Bush is the worst president we’ve ever had
Tuesday, July 10, 2007 | 6:58 a.m.
For a long time I have wanted to express my views. I am a 73-year-old male who has watched our country move along in spite of every adversity; that is, until now.
We have a president and an administration that has decided to destroy this country as quickly as they can. No president has so contemptuously lied and misled us as this man has. He has taken a huge surplus and put us so far behind we will never see the light. The world laughs at us. Only Albania loves him.
In all his arrogance he "lied" us into war. Thus far more than 3,500 of our boys are dead, thousands are maimed, and there is no end in sight. Even after the last election with the people saying "no more," he said that's OK: I'll still do it my way.
With illegal immigration, he showed his contempt for what the people have so loudly voiced, that illegal immigration is not what this country wants or needs. The cost of this is dragging us into a bottomless pit. If it is illegal, that should end the story. They have no rights, they should never have any rights, and if they would like to become legal they should go back to where they came from and start all over again like so many before them have done.
Recently, to protect his vice president and the rest of the administration, he commuted the sentence of a convicted felon because he thought the punishment was too harsh. Evidently the jury and the judge thought otherwise. "Scooter" Libby was willing to fall on the sword and protect the administration at all costs. He knew that President Bush would pull it out.
The only positive thing he has done is to replace his father as the worst president in history. God help us. Where will it end?
