Letter: Bush has no respect for jury’s decision
Sunday, July 8, 2007 | 7:09 a.m.
Would you believe the following people?
A person is holding a dagger, dripping with the blood of his family members who are lying all around him and he says, "I respect the sanctity of life."
A woman is exposed for having four affairs in five years and says, "I respect my wedding vows."
Terrorists burn Catholic churches and tell the police when caught ,"We respect peoples' right to worship as they please."
Such is the case with President George W. Bush when he says , "I respect the jury's decision" and then totally ignores it as he commutes the prison sentence of "Scooter" Libby, Vice President Dick Cheney's former chief of staff.
This comes as no surprise. The deal was probably made with Libby months ago by oil tycoon Dick Cheney, who then told the spineless occupant of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. that he had to do it. And like the whipped little puppy he is, he did not disobey.
That still doesn't blunt the results of this cowardly , nauseating, partisan act , which further shows the lengths to which this rogues' gallery will go to protect their own interests.
