Letter: Bush picks bad time to come to Libby’s aid

President Bush likes to call himself the Decider. In the case of "Scooter" Libby, the facts were clear. Although apparently he did not originate the leak that exposed Valerie Plame to Bob Novak, Libby was meeting with other journalists leaking the same information (Judith Miller did 12 weeks of jail time to hide Scooter as her source).

But what has gone unnoticed is the timing of the commutation. He was not going to jail in the next couple of days. Yet Bush commuted his jail time on the day of a very important meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

It is a slap in the face of an important world leader that he would be upstaged by this commutation.

Bush, the Decider, should now be referred to as the Insulter. How much lower can this man descend?
