Letter: Vegas drivers make roads dangerous
Monday, Jan. 22, 2007 | 7:13 a.m.
Having driven through most of the large cities on the East Coast, it didn't take me long to realize that Las Vegas has some of the worst drivers in the country. From the 24/7 drunks and drug heads, you are taking your life in your own hands when you venture out on the highways and byways.
We have females who can't handle a car at 65 mph while talking on their cell phones passing us in their gas-guzzling SUVs at 85 mph! No fear in those ladies!
Where is the police presence on our roads? Didn't we vote to raise our sales tax so that more policemen could be hired? I think we have less. Where are they?
I had a recent visit from my brother, who is a 30-year retiree from the Pennsylvania state police, and he told me he could write enough tickets in four hours that would cover his monthly paycheck, and that was only on Horizon Ridge Speedway!
Be careful out there!
