Letter: Bush should put his job where his mouth is

Friday, Jan. 12, 2007 | 6:58 a.m.

Well, our fearless leader is at it again. President Bush keeps coming up with schemes that he assures us will lead to victory in Iraq. Here's a suggestion: Why doesn't he put his job on the line?

If the surge doesn't work within four months, then he and his followers should all step down. That's the least he could do after asking our military men and women to put their lives on the line for him time and time again.

It was pretty sneaky of him to start sending troops to Iraq before his speech, tying the hands of members of Congress who vowed not to monetarily support an increase. Now Congress will look like it doesn't support the troops.

This man is on an ego trip and taking the U.S. down with him. He couldn't even rebuild New Orleans, so how can we believe him to rebuild Iraq?
