FLASHPOINT for Jan 12, 2007

Friday, Jan. 12, 2007 | 6:59 a.m.

By now you probably have heard that Tessa Hafen, the ex-Harry Reid spokeswoman who ran a robust campaign against Rep. Jon Porter, has gone to work as manager of government relations for the University of Nevada Health Sciences System. Nice parachute. Not golden. But bronze, at least. Roll Call picked up on the development and suggested the job "positions her nicely if she decides to challenge" Porter again in 2008. I have two questions: First, after what Porter endured last year during a cycle when he couldn't have been more vulnerable and he still hung on, can he ever be beaten? And, second, Hafen must know that Porter's seat belongs to failed gubernatorial contender Dina Titus if she wants it, doesn't she?
