Letter: Bush shouldn’t send over more troops
Thursday, Jan. 4, 2007 | 7:02 a.m.
Here we go again! The commander in chief, President Bush, wants to send as many as 30,000 more troops to Iraq to correct his arrogant mistakes. Remember that same tactic in Vietnam?
More troops in Iraq means more body bags and flag-draped coffins that Bush won't let us see as they arrive at Andrews and Dover Air Force bases.
Bush's "stay the course" policy is an impending disaster and I wonder where those who agree with his "troop surge" have their minds. As of this writing, there are 3,003 GIs killed so far, and how ironic that the 3,000th GI to be killed in Bush's war is from Texas.
Somebody has already forgotten the Nov. 7 election results in which a large majority want our troops home. I wonder if G.W. Bush ever smelled the death odor of an encased GI in a body bag?
