Refreshing to hear an honest account
Monday, Jan. 1, 2007 | 7 a.m.
It recently was my pleasure to listen to the most honest, intelligent and, to emphasize, truthful analysis of not only the dreadful situation in Iraq but also the entire Middle East.
This analysis occurred on the Dec. 17 television news show, "Meet The Press," in which Tim Russert interviewed The New York Times' David Brooks and Tom Friedman, arguably two of the most, if not the most, thoughtful, intelligent columnists and authors in the United States of America. (I'd also like to thank the Las Vegas Sun for running their columns.)
These two guys know what the events truly are and are not afraid or reluctant to talk about them. We should listen!
Oh, yes, they also offered some great insights on our current political situations and presidential possibilities.
I was so excited and thrilled to listen to the truth, honestly and straightforwardly expressed, I actually stood and applauded at the conclusion of the program. My only regret was I didn't record the interview.
What else can I say but this: David and Tom, keep telling it like it is.
Dale Kirkpatrick, Las Vegas
