FLASHPOINT for Feb 26, 2007
Monday, Feb. 26, 2007 | 7:15 a.m.
As much as I have been writing and thinking about the Nevada presidential caucus making the state a player, it didn't really hit me until last week in Carson City. A dapper Joe Biden strolling into Comma Coffee, right across from the Legislative Building. Legislators fawning over Hillary Clinton inside the building. A gaggle of recognizable national media folk pecking away at their keyboards at the community center. Satellite trucks in the parking lot. Protesters performing for the cameras. The debate wasn't a debate. Not a whole lot of real news was made at the event. But it looked and felt like what it was: Nevada's coming-out party. And the best part of all: This is only the beginning of the sucking up.
