Letter: Salaried supervisors are not entitled to OT
Thursday, Feb. 22, 2007 | 6:59 a.m.
The Las Vegas Sun's Feb. 18 article, "The advantage of public service," was interesting and the facts totally disgusting! I am a retired professional and it was always my experience that "salaried supervisors" were paid an annual salary to get the job done period, with no overtime.
No one with the proper credentials, for their specific position, should be working 16-hour days all year long. Since that is the case, it seems many performance appraisals are due to be completed in the near future and demotions made.
In closing, I must ask who is looking after the taxpayers' interest? Clark County Manager Virginia Valentine or our Clark County commissioners? Neither it seems.
