Letter: Bush out of touch with his own war
Monday, Feb. 19, 2007 | 7:28 a.m.
After watching the whole presidential press conference on Feb. 14, it became quite clear that this president is without any doubt incompetent and delusional. After one redundant answer after another, he dropped an incredulous bombshell.
When asked if he believed Iraq was in a civil war, his reply was, "It's hard for me, living in this beautiful White House, to give a firsthand assessment. I haven't been there, you (the press) have." When asked about the troops' morale, part of his answer was, "I know there's concern about the home front. I haven't heard deep concern about the morale of the troops in Iraq."
As commander in chief, is it not his responsibility to know exactly what is occurring in "his war?" Is he not aware of the situation (check the news transcripts) that many of our troops are sleeping on cots in facilities without water or plumbing (good for their morale, I'm sure), while this president by his own admission is living in his beautiful White House.
I find this despicable beyond belief.
