Letter: Put global warming into perspective
Friday, Feb. 16, 2007 | 7:13 a.m.
It seems as if a person disagrees with the global warming concept, he/she is denied a forum to express ideas. Could it be the ones who stand to profit by making others endorse that concept do not want opposition voiced?
Mars, a planet near Earth, has no humans, no Republicans, and certainly no President Bush, yet global warming is occurring there. NASA, New Science and other magazines have reported on the shrinking ice caps on Mars repeatedly.
Sure, mankind has caused greenhouse gases. The problem is, regardless of our activities, global warming will continue as it wants and then cool as it wants. It's just sad that folks like Al Gore endorse any idea that will cost the American taxpayer millions as he placates his supporters.
The movie "An Inconvenient Truth" was just not something to be taken seriously and certainly nothing to be lauded. A lie is a lie is a lie is a lie ... but tell it loud enough and long enough and people will begin to believe it.
