FLASHPOINT for Feb 16, 2007
Friday, Feb. 16, 2007 | 7:15 a.m.
Remember all those politicians who took heat for going to the big NASCAR event and partying in the owner's suite? This year the invitation has this paragraph: "For those of you who are elected officials, we are sensitive to the issues of lobbying and the reporting of the cost of entertainment. While our invitation is not an attempt to lobby you in any way, we want to be consistent with the spirit of the guidelines that determine Nevada's lobbying regulations. We encourage you to join us, and please take note that you should value any day in Mr. (Bruton) Smith's suite at $333." So no lobbying, although mutual sucking-up is permitted. We just love your company. And if any media types ask, just report it! Got it, elected folks?
