Please be my Anti-Valentine
Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2007 | 7:18 a.m.
Todd Goldman, the dry-witted Romeo of pop art and T-shirts, will again be celebrating anti-Valentine's Day with an exhibit at Entertainment Galleries.
Goldman, best known for his "Boys Are Stupid Throw Rocks at Them" image, will unveil new paintings at the gallery in the Grand Canal Shoppes of the Venetian and meet with fans.
In honor of the traditional day for lovers, Goldman will showcase a limited edition, signed lithograph of "Golddigger." The two-color image depicts a woman gazing at the bling on her finger and wrist and the words, "Like a hooker ... just smarter," scrawled below.
A Valentine's exhibit at Entertainment Galleries is becoming a tradition for Goldman, who is in town to attend the MAGIC clothing convention and promote his David and Goliath line of shirts. Last year's exhibit opened a week after Valentine's Day. The year prior was Goldman's "Anti-Valentine's Day" exhibit.
Goldman, dubbed by angry parents as a "boy basher," has also written an advice column for Seventeen magazine and graciously insults both genders.
Let the romance begin.
Details: "Golddigger" exhibit opening, Entertainment Galleries, 8-10 p.m. Wednesday, free, 866-6813.
