Letter: Conservatives take focus from real issues

There are roughly 50,000 airplanes in America 's skies daily. That's about 18 million a year. House speaker Nancy Pelosi would up that to 18,000,098.

Air Force One is a customized version of the Boeing 747, a commercial airliner that seats 300-plus and consumes fuel at the rate of $6,000 an hour, and George Bush is one of the nation's most-traveled presidents.

Yet Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh and Mr. "No Spin" Bill O'Reilly would rather rail about a non-issue targeting the despised speaker than the current Scooter Libby trial (where we learn confirmation of Vice President Dick Cheney and Karl Rove's politically motivated outing of a CIA undercover agent), or , more importantly, of the latest intelligence report describing the Pentagon's politically manipulated citation of a dubious connection between Saddam and al-Qaida in order to deceive us and the Congress into supporting Bush's attack on Iraq.
