FLASHPOINT

So Darren Mack, who admitted killing his wife and entered an Alford plea on shooting a judge, now wants a do-over? I asked former prosecutor Robert Daskas, now running for Congress, what he thought of Mack's decision. He didn't seem surprised, saying on "Face to Face" that often defendants who sign up for long sentences (Mack agreed to life in prison with possible parole after 20 years) experience buyer's remorse in the solitude of their cells. But what could really undermine Mack's contention that he didn't mean to do it - plead guilty, that is - is that he called prosecutors Daskas and Christopher Lalli "and shook our hands and thanked us for being so professional," Daskas recalled. Buyer's remorse indeed.
