Letter: Nothing wrong with immigration process
Monday, Dec. 3, 2007 | 7:14 a.m.
I would like to respond to Timothy Pratt's Friday article, "Suing for citizenship."
Someone needs to explain to those seeking to be U.S. citizens that the road to citizenship is long and sometimes painful, but in the end it is worth it.
If they cannot wait, tell them to go back to their country of origin and wait for the process there. We did not ask them to come here, they invited themselves, and then they have the nerve to say that they do not like the way we operate.
As a citizen of the United States, I am tired of hearing the whining. Maybe in the future the Las Vegas Sun can do an article on people who have gone through the process to become legal citizens and what it has meant to them.
