Believe it or not, Mayor Oscar Goodman doesn't send out many news releases. Oh, the city sends out plenty, many with his name in them. But the mayor, under the aegis of his office, did send one Wednesday - and on a national, no, international topic. "Las Vegas Mayor Supports Clean Energy Alternatives," it declared. You see, His Honor backs Sen. Harry Reid's war on coal and the release lists all these clean energy things the city has done, which I'd bet Goodman's bank account the mayor knows little about. So why the release? I'm sure it has nothing to do with Goodman's incipient junket to Britain for a global warming conference. Could he be, ahem, ginning up stuff to pad his resume before he goes to the conference? I'll drink to that.
