Letter: He has a lot of nerve to talk about Vietnam
Sunday, Aug. 26, 2007 | 1:04 a.m.
OK, now we are treated to the banal spectacle of President Bush lecturing the nation about the history lessons to be drawn from the adverse consequences of the United States not staying long enough militarily in Vietnam. Well, history also reminds us that both Mr. Bush and Mr. Cheney had "other priorities" during that era besides spending so much as one minute in Vietnam.
You see, fighting and dying in ostensible defense of the nation is for others. But, hey, to quote the Manly War President, "it's worth it."
