FLASHPOINT for Aug 26, 2007

Sunday, Aug. 26, 2007 | 1:04 a.m.

Gov. Jim Gibbons clearly does not believe in karma. The Elko Daily Free Press reports that he has purchased 40 acres of land in Elko County where he plans to build a retirement home. Elko County where Gibbons gave his infamous plagiarized speech a couple of years ago. He also purchased the land from Jerry Carr Whitehead, a former judge who got tarred in one of the most contentious judicial scandals in state annals before the millennium turned. And in making the purchase for $575,000 remember he still needs money to actually build the house Gibbons must not have cared that tongues would wag about him crying poor and taking out a second mortgage to pay his defense team. Karma? Whats that?
