Letter: Flights’ ‘punishment’ doesn’t fit the whine
Friday, Aug. 24, 2007 | 7:41 a.m.
I have lived in a flight path for 11 years and can still sit on my patio, talk, listen to music, barbecue and enjoy the outside. My home 's value has increased, no paint has chipped, no pictures have fallen , and I sleep quite well every night.
I think letter writer Marc Jeric ("Way of life ruined by planes taking off," Aug. 14), should stop complaining. Since when is the northwest an "industrial hell"? The planes fly early morning and late evening. The "growling and grumbling," as Mr. Jeric described it, lasts about eight seconds and does not occur every day , all day.
When Mr. Jeric travels by air, if he does, where would he like his flight to fly over? Let's get a life and stop whining about everything that happens. No one has been killed by falling aircraft.
Our elected officials have better things to do than fight against Federal Aviation Administration decisions.
