Letter: Nellis noise makes neighbors proud

I am so sick of reading letters to the editor from these people who supposedly live in the northwest part of the Las Vegas Valley and who complain about how their peaceful way of life has been "ruined" by the horrible noise they hear from those big bad planes flying out of McCarran International Airport.

Let us be clear: They are not the northwesterners of the Las Vegas Valley. They are, in fact, the whiney people of the western part of the valley. The true northwestern residents live in the Centennial Hills area of Las Vegas.

We, the people of the true northwest, are proud of the air traffic we hear every day of the year - generated by U.S. Air Force pilots flying out of Nellis Air Force Base.

Maybe the Summerlin whiners would like to come up here and experience the Red Flag exercises. Would that help them cope?
