Letter: Incompetence of Bush team not funny
Friday, Aug. 17, 2007 | 7:27 a.m.
It seems as if every time you turn around there's something else the Bush administration can't find - WMDs, Osama bin Laden, a stated reason for the Iraq war that isn't different from a year ago and that won't change a year from now. And now, incredibly, hundreds of thousands of rifles, pistols, helmets and body-armor suits cannot be found or accounted for.
Fox News doesn't seem too concerned. I scarcely hear the story mentioned by it. (But imagine the uproar we'd hear from it if a Democratic administration lost track of that much weaponry during a military action.)
Maybe Bush should gather some of his pals together and do a skit on "Hannity & Colmes." Picture Bush, Rummy, Gen. Petraeus (the man, by the way, most responsible for the lost weapons), Bill Kristol and other notable Bush dead-enders, all yukking it up and looking under desks and behind cabinets in the Oval Office for those darn missing AK-47s that have undoubtedly been used to kill American soldiers and will continue to be.
"Bring it on" indeed.
