Letter: Weapons ban didn’t save Virginia victims
Saturday, April 21, 2007 | 7:09 a.m.
What is it with letter writer Janice Keil? In her April 18 letter, she wrote that she will not vote for a presidential candidate who will not back gun control. Perhaps she is not aware that the shootings in Virginia were done on a campus where guns were banned. It did no good. It only prevented law-abiding students and teachers from defending themselves.
On Wednesday, in Tennessee, that state's legislature began consideration to expand the right of citizens to carry weapons on most public property. Hooray for Tennessee, and hooray for the Second Amendment!
