Letter: Scandal of the day is a Las Vegas tradition

Wednesday, April 4, 2007 | 7:18 a.m.

I moved to Las Vegas four years ago. It took me very little time to establish a family tradition I call "scandal of the day." When I open my morning newspaper the first thing I look for is the latest public scandal or the latest information on an ongoing scandal/investigation.

The public officials in this city who have their hands in the cookie jar are legion. It is astounding that Las Vegans continue to put up with this rampant money grabbing. Don't they know it is their tax dollars and contributions that finance it?

The investigative reporters at the Sun provide a valuable service. Were it not for their reports, can you even imagine how bad things could get? They seem to be the only ones who actually care about doing something to stem the tide.

Thank you to everyone on your staff. They all do a wonderful job!
