Letter: Nonsmokers have right to clean air

Regarding the Las Vegas Sun's Sept. 25 story, "Breath of fresh air":

Although I live in Utah, I frequent the casinos in Nevada. I am a nonsmoker; so I only eat in restaurants with nonsmoking sections and my casino trips are fewer.

If only 23 percent of Nevadans smoke, why are they controlling the smoking situation? How many casinos think it's fair to nonsmoking patrons to expose them to this environment? Nonsmoking gamblers have a right to clean air. Do smokers bring in so much money that it's worth the cost of lives and damage to property?

Having lost a father, a friend and classmate to lung cancer from smoking, I know the dangers of this silent killer.
