Four people die in three western Nevada accidents

Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2006 | 10:13 a.m.

Four people have died in three accidents in rural parts of western Nevada.

Tina Park, 42, of Smith Valley was killed Tuesday evening when her Jeep utility flipped on Lower Colony Road. The Nevada Highway Patrol said she was speeding and lost control of the vehicle before it overturned.

Two drivers were killed in a two-vehicle crash on U.S. 50 four miles west of Silver Springs. Troopers said an eastbound car crossed the double-yellow center line and hit a pickup head-on.

Names of the victims were not immediately released.

A chain reaction crash late Tuesday on U.S. 95 15 miles south of Hawthorne involved four tractor-trailer rigs and a passenger car. The driver of the passenger car was killed.

The crash closed the highway until Wednesday afternoon.

The name of the victim was withheld pending notification of relatives.
