A MOMENT CAPTURED

Saturday's plan was to get up early, brew coffee and put the hedge clippers to the Texas Ranger bushes encroaching on the front walkway.

But that idea quickly evaporated at the sight of dozens of bees zooming among the flowers along the row.

The purple flowers blossomed overnight. They were too pretty to cut, not that I would have risked battling the bees to do it.

The Texas Ranger shrub blooms following warm weather rain, according to the University of Arizona Cooperative Extension Web site. I remembered a sprinkle of rain earlier in the week.

Mother nature is taunting me. She knows the clippers have been oiled and sharpened.
