Alexander Langen, 3, watches a water feature during a grand-opening ceremony for the new Henderson Events Plaza on Thursday. Alexander's father, Michael Langen, was construction manager for the project. The plaza, between City Hall and the Henderson Convention Center and Visitors Bureau, was partly funded by an $8 million recreational facility capital improvement grant from the Las Vegas Convention and Vistitors Authority.
