Hearing in Carson City on Monday

The state engineer's hearings on the Southern Nevada Water Authority's multiple applications for ground water from White Pine County's Spring Valley are scheduled to begin with opening arguments at 8:30 a.m. Monday in Room 1214 of the Nevada Legislature, 401 S. Carson St., Carson City.
The hearings will be carried live on the Internet at: www.leg.state.nv.us/audio/AudioVideo.cfm
The hearings also will be televised live in Las Vegas via video teleconferencing at the Sawyer State Office Building, 555 E. Washington Ave., Room 4406.
The state engineer will take public comment on the Water Authority's plans at 9 a.m. Friday at the Carson City and Las Vegas locations, the William Bee Ririe Hospital in Ely and the Baker Elementary School library in Baker.
Public comment is limited to 5 minutes per person. Written public comment may be sent until Nov. 3 to Tracy Taylor, State Engineer, Attention: Susan Joseph-Taylor, Chief Hearing Officer, 901 S. Stewart St., Ste. 2002, Carson City, NV 89701-5250.
