Letter: For children’s sake, restrict smoking

My husband and I recently vacationed in Las Vegas and enjoyed complimentary copies of the Las Vegas Sun.

It was interesting reading the Sept. 3 article, "Casinos no place for kids." Though there are some activities that are perfectly fine for children, we were glad that we were vacationing in Las Vegas without kids. A concern I have is for the health of all people, not just children, because of the secondhand smoke.

There is too much smoke in the casinos, as well as in shopping and eating areas. It is a health risk to have children in those areas because of all the secondhand smoke. It is difficult to avoid the smoky areas, even if one wants to just pass through. Banning smoking would be difficult to do, but having restricted smoking areas would be a great improvement.
