Letter: Who better than generals to listen to?
Sunday, Oct. 29, 2006 | 7:54 a.m.
Two retired Army generals and 100 active military personnel have joined in a campaign to get our troops out of Iraq now, according to a Web article by Salon.com.
Also according to Salon, the two major generals - John Batiste and Paul Eaton - who have voted Republican in the past, are now openly endorsing a Democratic takeover of Congress. These two generals have in the recent past called for the resignation of Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld.
Maj. Gen. Batiste, who says he is a "lifelong Republican," is now saying that it is time for a change. Both generals served in command positions on the ground in Iraq.
Is anyone listening?
