Letter: Let’s get out of Iraq before it’s too late
Saturday, Oct. 28, 2006 | 7:47 a.m.
So our president has signed a bill authorizing a fence at the Mexican border. Isn't it six years too late? Our enemies have already come over the borders and are dug in; probably waiting for the hit. I hope not, but with the leaders we have in the White House for the last six years since 9/11, I'm afraid it's almost too late.
Well, we kept telling the president to put our troops on the borders and he would not listen. Instead he decides to send them to Iraq. And our children are dying in droves over there in a big mess. Another Vietnam. Well, we gently got out of there.
We can gently step out of Iraq and save face and lives of our children. Let's get out before more die. Let the Iraqi people settle their own disputes.
