Letter: Democrats might get their turn in control
Saturday, Oct. 28, 2006 | 7:47 a.m.
With less than two weeks to go before the Nov. 7 election, I find the Republican Party to be confused, desperate and in denial. I think they can smell the scent of defeat, and they are doing their best to ignore what is about to happen to them.
The recent and continuous scandals linked to the Republicans have become their "Waterloo." They have also failed to bring about any type of closure to the war in Iraq, and have been unable to find a solution for many of the problems facing this country.
Broken borders, a huge budget deficit, the loss of American jobs to other countries and an unworkable energy policy are just a few of the unsolved problems caused by an inept Republican majority.
It's time to see if the Democrats can move this country forward. Who knows, they may prove to be as inept as their opposition. If that is true, then the voters may rightly decide to throw them out in 2008.
Make sure you vote on Nov. 7. The future of our democratic republic depends upon it.
