Letter: Note to soldiers: Our freedom already gone
Sunday, Oct. 22, 2006 | 8:04 a.m.
For the past three years we've had soldiers fighting in Iraq. These soldiers and their families say they are "fighting for our freedom."
Maybe someone ought to tell them that while they were in another country fighting for our freedom, our House and Senate passed a bill striking down habeas corpus, which was the basis for our most important freedom, and our president signed it.
The military might as well come home since the reason they are over there is now a moot point.
