Letter: Don’t let Bush subjugate us any longer
Saturday, Oct. 21, 2006 | 8:05 a.m.
President Bush is choosing to stay the course no matter what the polls say or what good common sense would dictate. I have to question our entire political process when it seems that there is no progress on important issues, just bickering and finger pointing. Everyone is disenchanted and disgusted. I have to believe that never before has there ever been such a do-nothing and corrupt administration.
The two-party system has caused the real problems and important issues to be overlooked, while the parties play their blame games. The far right has gone too far this time, and our president has lost all sense of reality and our moral high ground. He's always preaching to us like we were all a bunch of nincompoops, when in fact the only language he knows is rhetoric, and he has to have that written for him. We never get the real truth; we get a constant dose of spin. It's disgraceful.
Our government is not working, and so we have to get out and vote and make the necessary changes.
There is a word that defines our present administration to a T; that word is subjugate. It means to conquer, make subservient, to take advantage of the lower classes and place taxes on food, fuel and all things necessary for everyday living. I refuse to believe we are as stupid as this administration thinks we are. The integrity of our democratic system is in jeopardy. It is up to us to change it.
