Letter: Letter writer was right on schools

I read in the Oct. 6 Las Vegas Sun a letter to the editor by Ricky Kendall, "Suggestions to curb gang violence in schools." I say bravo to Mr. Kendall for his superior grasp of things that have to be done, and not just here but throughout the entire education establishment.
The education establishment will do its damnedest to try to appease groups like the ACLU. They consider any kind of abridgement of people's "rights" as verboten regardless of how it affects the whole picture, and especially as regards to taking any actual and logical steps to alleviate these major problems in our schools!
Mr. Kendall suggests photo identification tags for all who attend, teach or administer and block those who do not belong in the school. He also suggests mandatory uniforms for very good reasons, such as gang identification and affiliations, and he also suggests fingerprinting which in no way interferes with the student's freedoms overall.
He also says that there must be zero tolerance for any student who is found to be in a gang. And as to those young idiots, they should be permanently expelled from their school so they cannot become major safety problems for those kids who really do want to learn.
